Modern wood carving is an art practice that has been in existence for quite a while. This type of wood carving has been a long-standing part of the furniture business. Artists such as Hap Sakwa, Ambass Austria, or Andrianna shamaris are among the most famous wood carvers of today.

Aron Demetz

Aron Demetz's modern wood carving blends traditional techniques with modern materials, forming works of art with an evocative physical presence. His work incorporates three techniques: burning, carving, and covering with resin to create a reinterpretation and interpretation of the material's spirit and texture. His work features human characters with strong moral and existential values. Michael Pacher

His paintings were among the first ones that introduced artists from Germany to techniques used in Renaissance art. The St Wolfgang Altarpiece, which is one of the biggest altarpieces of all European art is his most renowned artwork.

The wood sculpture of Pacher shows the influence of the northern Italian painting and sculpture. It has many resemblances with Andrea Mantegna. But, his fusion of Northern Gothic realism and Italian Renaissance styles allowed him to develop a unique style of painting.

Jorg Zurn

A life-size wood carving of Archangel Michael created by Jorg Zurn was auctioned off for $250,000 at an art exhibition in New York in 2002. Hans Zurn, the Elder was the artist's eldest son. Jorg Zurn studied under his father and also trained at several workshops throughout southern Bavaria.

Zurn was Zurn was a German Baroque artist who carved altars and other items for the Church. The five-story High Altar of the Mother of God, which has five stories, is among Zurn's most famous works. It is situated in the Church of Saint Nicholas (uberlingen). The altar's style of sculpture has elements of early Baroque however, it is an energizing design that is similar to German Gothic sculpture.

Veit Stoss

Veit Stoss was a popular woodcarver. He worked for a wide range of clients across Europe, including Portugal and Italy. His sculptures were large-scale, carved figures as well as scenes from the lives of Christ as well as Mary. The sculptures express the passion and passion of late Gothic culture. Giorgio Vasari described his work as 'a wonder in wood.'

Hepworth was inspired by her childhood fascination with the natural forms and textures. Her love for landscapes was a major influence on her work into the future. In an essay from 1943 that her sculpture was born from the landscape. Dissatisfied with the flat backdrops She took photographs of her work in the natural environment.
